A delightful three pocket wall tidy
The cotton poplin tortoise designs have been hand stitched onto the eco friendly jute material. The shell effect on the tortoises back is hand embroidered.
Braided jute fibre is secured to a bamboo rod at the top of the wall pocket tidy for the hanging of the wall tidy.

Handmade and purchased from the fair trade organization, YWCA Craft Centre, Bangladesh. The YWCA Craft centres are located in the capital Dhaka, and also in Kalijong and Savar villages. About 450 ladies, many uneducated and previously destitute are employed by the YWCA. Benefits include a compulsory 10% savings programme, interest free loans and health and legal support.
I have recently heard that the YWCA Craft Centre may be closing down. This would be horrible and we are doing everything we can to help them stay open. Every one of your purchases really does count.
