Eco Max Princess Dry Body Brush (Soft Bristle) is handmade from natural jute, a soft vegetable fibre which is ideal for sensitive skin, more mature skin types and those new to dry body brushing. The long timber handle allows for easy reach over all parts of the body and has a cotton cord for hanging.
Eco Max Brushes are Vegan, Fair Trade and biodegradable.
Dry body brushing is a completely natural way to gently exfoliate while increasing circulation and stimulating the lymphatic system to help detoxification.
Care of your brush: To keep your brush fresh and clean, spritz after use with our Eco Max Turmeric & Lime Spritzer. Wash regularly with a natural antiseptic like the Eco Max Turmeric Wash and dry in the sun. Do not leave damp or in water for prolonged periods.
Our Eco Max Brushes are handmade in Sri Lanka by a small family run business that prides its self on creating beautiful, sustainable brushes while providing employment and training for women. Handed down from father to daughter, Liza now runs the factory in Wattala, which trains and employs women from a slum close to the new express way. This training and work allows the women to earn a living wage and a bonus scheme increases their weekly pay. Their children are also encouraged to continue their studies and pursue further education. Unfortunately, the slum is prone to flooding and during the wet season, the women and their family are often forced to leave their home and move into the factory. There has been ongoing negotiation with the government about relocating these families to flood free land close by and it is hoped that this will occur this year. The company has put aside extra finances to help with the women’s relocation which will allow, with the amount provided by the government, for them to rebuild their homes.
Rather than retire, Liza’s father is now training women to make brushes in Kurunegala, an area where employment opportunities are limited. He hopes to set up a training centre in Jaffna in the near future. Eco Max Brushes use only natural vegetable fibres, are biodegradable and sustainable. The brushes are registered with The Vegan Society and we are working closely with the women to develop new brushes using new fibres.
