Each one of these beautiful necklaces has been hand made with love and care. Women artisans in Uganda hand make each of the beads out of recycled magazine papers. This means that no two beads are the same! To make the beads they take a triangle piece of paper, which is rolled, glued and varnished with an environmentally friendly sealant. The finished beads are then arranged between tiny glass beads and created into unique, gorgeous, recycled jewellery. The beads are water resistant and durable in normal wear.


Afribeads products are made by a group of 30 women in Uganda call the Kind Mothers Project. Many millions of people live in extreme poverty in Africa struggling to survive each day. Afribeads creates sustainable income for these artisans who are then able to care for their families and send their children to school.

The finished beads are then arranged between tiny glass beads and created into unique, gorgeous, recycled jewellery. The beads are water resistant and durable in normal wear.

As each necklace is handmade there are some variations to length and colour. Each necklace is approximately 40cm long.
